Are taxes included in booking/room price?
All prices are quoted in U.S. dollars and do not include 19% hospitality taxes.
What is your cancellation/deposit policy?
A deposit of the 100% of the total amount of the reservation will be collected thirty (30) days before check-in (or less if you book fewer than 30 days before your arrival). By completing this booking request, you certify that you are the cardholder and authorize us to charge your credit card automatically with the amount due at that moment. In case of having problems to make this balance in your credit card we will contact you by email to request updated information of your payment method.
Free cancellation is allowed if canceled by 4 pm hotel local time up to thirty (30) full days before arrival.
For any cancellation that is requested between 30 days and 15 days prior to arrival, a 50% cancellation fee is applied to the entire reservation amount.
For any cancellation that is requested less than 15 days prior to the arrival, a 100% cancellation fee is applied to the entire reservation amount.
I have a last minute medical, business or family situation and I need to cancel my stay, will I get refunded if I am in the non-refundable period before the check-in date?
As an independent small boutique hotel with a very low number of rooms that is trying to provide a unique experience to our guests, our operating costs per room are running very high, and we therefore are closely subject to our occupancy and room rates to provide such service.
It is very difficult for us to resell particular rooms of specific date at settled rate pertaining that is being released on short term notice. This is the reason why we have strict cancellation policy and that we don't waive our cancelation fee in case of change of plans or emergency. We highly recommend to purchase a travel insurance for any inconvenience or emergency that could prevent visiting una as planned.

Check in is at 3 PM and check out is at 12 noon
Do you accommodate Late Check-out?
Yes, based upon availability. For information regarding a later check-out time, contact the Front Desk the evening before or morning of departure.
Are we allowed to enjoy the property on the check-out day after check out time?
Depending on the hotel occupacy on your check out date and time ( 12 am noon), and depending on the arrival time of the new guests, we are happy to extend a late check-out free of charge until 2pm. This will allow you, upon availability, to use your room until then, and should you wish to stay longer, with an additional charge of 100 USD + taxes between 2pm and 10 pm.
Single-use plastic / Change of linen
We are mindful of our impact on the cultures, economies and environments in which we operate. We try to avoid plastic bottles for drinks and amenities, and in general any kind of single-use items. We will change your towels left on the floor or inside the bathtub. You will decide when we should change your bed linens by placing a specially designed notice on your bed.
Do you allow children?
We love kids, unfortunately due to our small size and intimate atmosphere, we only allow children over 12 years old in the hotel.
Do you allow smoking on property? In the rooms?
No, La Valise Mexico City is a smoke-free establishment. If smoking occurs in your room during your stay, a $250 USD cleaning fee will be billed to your account.
Do you have air conditioning?
Yes. we have air conditioning in all rooms.
What type of main entrance access is used by the guests?
Only authorized people have access to the hotel, and to assure a total security to our guests, we use a fingerprint reader at the main entrance.
Do you have facilities for disabled people?
No, the building consists in 3 floors (one suite per floor), each one accessible only through stairs.
Do you have elevators?
For structural reasons we don’t have elevators inside the hotel. La Valise Mexico City is hosted in a classical Porfirian house built in 1905 and considered by Mexico City as a historical house, therefore we had to preserve most of its original materials and structure.
Do you have a pool?
No, we do not have a pool at the hotel.
Do you have a spa?
La Valise Mexico City does not have a spa, however we can offer you in room massages services by request.
Do you have a business center?
No, we don’t have business center.
Do you offer room service? What are the hours?
Yes we do have Room service elaborated and cooked by Rosetta’s Chef Elena Reygadas who has received the Latin America’s Best Female Chef award by the renowned San Pellegrino 50 World Best Restaurant jury in 2014.
Do you offer transportation service from the airport?
We have drivers and we can provide you the transportation service from the airport, our fee is USD 60 or round trip 100 USD,
Do you have onsite parking?
We have a parking 50 meters away from the hotel, the fee is USD 40 per night.
I booked on a website other than the hotel website and I need to make a change to my reservation. How do I do this?
You must go through the booking agent/website that you went through in order to change your reservation.
Is my ID/passport required at check in?
We do require presentation of a valid government-issued identification at the time of check-in.

What forms of payment are accepted to pay for my room?
We accept all major credit cards. When you check in to the hotel, we will hold the full room and tax total, plus 300 USD for possible room charges. These charges will be released from your account within 5 days after check out. We do not accept checks. If you would like to check in to the hotel with cash, we will ask for the full payment of room charges and applicable taxes. In addition, we will require a 300 USD security deposit for possible room charges.
Are pets allowed? Are there restrictions for weight, height or types?
Yes, we are a pet-friendly hotel and pets (dogs and cats only) that are 50 lbs or less are welcomed at the hotel for a USD 40 fee per day. Please note that pets cannot be left unattended at the hotel. Pets must be leashed or in a carrier at all times.
How far do you have to walk to take your pet out?
The nearest park is Plaza Rio de Janeiro just 5 blocks away.
Do you have pet sitting or dog walking services?
Yes, we can take care of your pet, please let us know in advance in order to make a reservation for your pet, the fee is USD 35 per day.
Is there a fee to use the Fitness Center?
No, but we have a agreement with Sports World fitness center (5 blocks away) and you only need to let us know when you want to go and we will organize everything, the fee is USD 45 per day.
What amenities are in your guest room?
Special amenities help make your stay more comfortable, like the mini-refrigerator, workstation and nesting table, laptop safe, coffee maker, and a selection of bath complements by Baja Botanica.
Do you have safe box in the rooms?
Yes, every room offers a safe box for your own personal use, We highly encourage our guests to keep all valuables in the safe box. The Hotel will not be responsible for any loss of cash or valuables.
Does your hotel offer Currency Exchange?
No, we don't propose this service.
